Observe, feel and listen to yourself
A smooth transition is necessary from rigid shoes to barefoot (minimalist) shoes. We are convinced that we are all made to be barefoot on a daily basis, however the body needs time to adapt, to move forward little by little, with awareness and respect.
This period of physical transition is essential. We advise you to start wearing your barefoot shoes (minimalist) for around 15 minutes per day, indoors, then outdoors, gradually increasing the time of use.
The muscles in your body will be stimulated differently, which is why it is important to give them time to develop in order to regain your natural posture.
Restore mobility to your feet
Our feet have been locked in more or less rigid shoes for the majority of our lives. Succeeding in getting them moving again and mobilizing them can be painful for some and require patience.
If you feel the need or if pain occurs, don't hesitate to put your old shoes back on for a while before switching back to your barefoot (minimalist) shoes.
You can also do exercises to regain greater freedom of movement and ease the transition. For the exercises, we recommend the book Go barefoot ! by Katy BOWMAN.
Conditioned but not determined
We realized after years of sales and advice in barefoot that the psychological transition exists and plays a very important part in the choice of switching to barefoot.
We have noticed, on numerous occasions, a reluctance among certain adults to abandon, for example, heeled shoes, a symbol of femininity. Or, again, the trendy brands that make us "in fashion"...
Looks very often take priority over well-being or health. We have all heard: “You have to suffer to be beautiful”. Barefoot goes against this saying and when its benefits become visible and considerable, some people break away from these diktats and more easily accept wearing minimalist shoes.
We took this psychological parameter into account in the creation of our Télito shoes. This is why we have designed a range of urban barefoot (minimalist) shoes with a nice look, so that the appearance of the shoe is no longer a barrier to the well-being of your feet.
